Nikon Integrated Dust Reduction System that includes Image Sensor Cleaning function
The D7000 employs Nikon's Integrated Dust Reduction System, which includes the Image Sensor Cleaning function that vibrates the optical low-pass filter with four different resonant frequencies to reduce dust. It prevents unwanted spots from appearing on your images. This function can be set to operate automatically when the camera is turned on or off, or to manual.
Face-priority AF
Suitable for focusing on a human face such as for a commemorative photo. Up to 35 faces can be detected. When multiple faces are detected, the camera will focus on the subject recognized to be the closest. Alternatively, you can also choose a different subject with the multi selector.
In-camera movie editing functions
Easy in-camera movie editing is possible without a PC. You can delete unwanted parts by choosing the start or end point by frame, and save a selected frame as a JPEG image.
Full HD movie-recording function: D-Movie with enhanced operability and image quality
The D7000 offers high-image-quality full HD movie recording of 1,920 x 1,080/24p. You can shoot creative and beautiful movies taking advantage of shallow depth of field and a variety of interchangeable NIKKOR lenses. As with Live View, contrast-detect AF is possible. And if you set full-time-servo AF (AF-F) for AF servo mode and subject-tracking AF for AF-area mode, AF area tracks even a moving subject continuously and three-dimensionally.
Picture Control System for customizing colors and tones to your preferences
Nikon's Picture Control System allows you to customize sharpness, saturation and other parameters to match your preferences. Picture Control can be adjusted and saved, and also shared with other cameras compatible with Picture Control System.
Retouch menu
This enables easy in-camera image editing after shooting. The D7000 creates an edited image, while leaving your original shot intact.

Long Description:
With a 35mm equivalent focal length range of 27-450mm, this lens offers a Ultra Wide Angle perspective.
Recommended Applications
Recommendations are based only on the features necessary to perform the application successfully and do not take into account the relative image quality of different lenses
High foreground to background compression of Static/Slow-moving subjects
High focal lengths reduce the perceived distance between foreground and background or they can be used for better magnification of subjects that are not possible to get closer to. When operating telephoto lenses at 300mm or above focal lengths without image stabilisation or camera support, it is necessary to use shutter speeds over 1/250 sec, making those lenses only suitable for daylight exposures.
Technologies
ED glass
Nikon developed ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass to enable the production of lenses that offer superior sharpness and color correction by minimizing chromatic aberration.
Nikon Super Integrated Coating
Nikons Super Integrated coating multilayer lens coating helps reduce ghost and flare to a negligible level.
Nikon Super Integrated Coating achieves a number of objectives, including minimized reflection in the wider wavelength range and superior color balance and reproduction.
Aspherical lens elements
Aspherical lenses virtually eliminate the problem of coma and other types of lens aberration — even when used at the widest aperture. They are particularly useful in correcting the distortion in wide-angle lenses. In addition, use of aspherical lenses contributes to a lighter and smaller lens design.
Internal Focusing (IF)
Nikon’s IF technology enables you to focus a lens without it changing in size. All internal optical movement is limited to the interior of the non-extending lens barrel. This allows for a more compact, lightweight construction as well as a closer focusing distance and faster operation. Additionally, since the front lens element doesn’t rotate, filters do not have to be readjusted every time the focus point changes.
Distance information
D-type and G-type NIKKOR lenses relay subject-to-camera distance information to AF Nikon camera bodies. This then makes possible advances like 3D Matrix Metering and 3D Multi-Sensor Balanced Fill-Flash.
G-type NIKKOR
The G-type NIKKOR has no aperture ring; aperture should be selected from camera body.
Silent Wave Motor
AF-S Nikkor lenses feature Nikon’s SWM which converts “traveling waves” into rotational energy to focus the optics. This enables high-speed auto-focusing that’s extremely accurate and super quiet as well as being more battery power efficient.
Vibration Reduction (VR) I and II
This system minimizes image blur caused by camera shake, and offers the equivalent of shooting at a shutter speed three stops faster, or four stops faster with VRII. It allows handheld shooting at dusk, at night, and even in poorly lit interiors. The lens’ VR system also detects automatically when the photographer pans — no special mode is required.
DX NIKKOR
Compact and lightweight DX NIKKOR lenses featuring a smaller image circle are specially designed and optimized for Nikon APS-C (non full frame) digital cameras. While these lenses will work on full frame cameras, the cameras will automatically crop the resolution on the image sensor.
